Some Frequently Asked Questions

1. When do I run my virtual race?
You can run/walk your 5K (3.1 miles) any time between 12:00am EST on Saturday, June 20 until 11:59pm PST on Sunday June 28, 2020. You may do as many 5Ks as you want but only one will be reported. You may run/walk with others from your household. Otherwise, please follow all social distancing guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
2. Do I have to run on a specific course?
No, you can run, jog, walk or hike any 5K route of your choice. You may choose to run on road, trail, track or treadmill on any date or time between June 20 and June 28.
3. What do I do once I complete my run?
You have three options for reporting your time. Plan ahead if you choose Option A. *Treadmill users should only use Option B or C.
A)     Use the It's Your Race smartphone app - Open the app, login with your email used to register. If you haven't logged in before, you can create a login now.

Search using "Good Karma," click on "6th Annual Good Karma ...", go to "Tracker" and click "Ready to Start My Race." Start the app and begin to run or walk with your phone, the app will detect completion of the 5K and will stop the clock on its own. The app will auto upload your time when you stop the app and it's good for one-time use. You will be able to see your results on the race page.
B)     Registrants who created a login and password with It's Your Race while registering can login and report their time manually. This is a good option for Garmin, Apple or other GPS watch user. You will be able to see your results on the race page.
C)     Registrants can also report their time using this link. If you need your bib #, click here. Find your bib number by searching alphabetically by last name. Your reported time will be manually uploaded to It's Your Race however it could take several hours or up to 24 hours for updates to appear on the race page.
You may run as many times as you want, but only one time should be reported. We cannot make multiples changes to your race time. Please upload or report your time before 11:59pm June 28. Our official 2020 results will be available after 12pm on Monday, June 29 on goodkarmany.org.
4. What if I can't walk the 5K at one time?
We encourage you to do your 5K in one effort. However if you're a walker and need to split it up into one mile segments, add up your time and submit it using option B or C.
5. What if I can't complete my 5K between June 20-28?
We know that life happens. You will still receive your t-shirt but you won't be listed in the results.
6. When will I receive my race shirt?
Your shirt will be mailed either to you or your AIM for Seva chapter representative in July. We will distribute the shirts after the virtual event is over.
7. Do I have to prove my time?
No, we are operating on an honor system. You can time yourself and input your time through the race app, on the website, or through the form.
8. Are you having awards?
Yes, we will have awards for the top three men and women. Your award will be mailed to you after the virtual event has been completed and all times have been reported. Results will be posted on goodkarmany.org.
9. Can I share pictures or on social media?
We would love to see pictures! You can upload them at the same time you input your time. We would also love to have you share your photos on facebook.com/goodkarmarun and use #goodkarma5k and #goodkarmarun.
10. What charities are benefiting from the Good Karma Virtual 5K Run/Walk this year?
We are supporting two charities: AIM for Seva and Feeding America's COVID-19 Relief fund. All race proceeds are being donated to these two charities. To learn more and make a donation, go to aimforsevausa.org and feedingamerica.org.
11. What else do I need to do?
Nothing! Just have fun completing 5K and celebrate your personal accomplishment and our collective effort to feed the children of rural India and the United States.
