FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Namaste! Thank you for registering for the 10th annual Good Karma 5K! We welcome our new runners and walkers and appreciate the past and continued support from our Good Karma loyalists. We know you have a few questions so we’ll answer them here. If we missed anything or you have additional questions, please contact us at goodkarma5k@gmail.com
1. When do I run my virtual race?
You can run/walk your 5K (3.1 miles) any time between 12:01am EST on Saturday, June 15 until 11:59pm PST on Tuesday June 25, 2024. You may run as many 5K distances as you wish but only one will be reported.
2. Do I have to run on a specific course?
No, you can run, jog, walk or hike any 5K route of your choice. You may choose to run on the road, trail, track, or treadmill on any date or time between June 15 and June 25.
3. What do I do once I complete my run?
Please report your time at: https://bit.ly/goodkarma5k. You may run as many times as you choose, but only one time will be reported. Our official results will be available on June 28, 2024 after 12pm on goodkarmany.org.
4. What if I can't complete my 5K between June 15-25? What if I don’t report my time?
You will still receive your t-shirt but you won't be listed in the results.
5. When will I receive my race shirt?
Your shirt will be mailed either to you or your AIM for Seva chapter representative in early August. We will distribute the shirts after the virtual event is over.
7. Do I have to prove my time?
No, we are operating on an honor system. You can time yourself and input your time through the procedure listed on our website FAQs.
8. Are you having awards?
Yes, we will have awards for the top three men and women. Your award will be mailed to you after the virtual event has been completed and all times have been reported. Results will be posted on goodkarmany.org.
1. Where will the race be held?
The race will be at Shenendehowa High School, 970 Route 146, Clifton Park. Please use the Moe Road Entrance (across from 515 Moe Road). Due to construction on the track, we will be starting and finishing the race in front of the high school and proceeding onto the campus road. Campus roads will be closed to traffic and no major roads are part of the course.
2. When should I arrive?
The 5K will start at 9:30am. The free ½-mile kids’ run will begin at 9am followed by a yoga warm-up at 9:15am. Please arrive latest by 8:45am to pick up your race bib and t-shirt.
3. What are the events after the race?
After the 5K, we’ll have awards for the top finishers, Indian street food, henna, post-race massages, and a fun, festive atmosphere.
